Jerry Seinfeld On Larry King
Well...it saddens me to have to tell ya, but Jerry Seinfeld fans like yours truly, who have been living under the false hope that someday, Elaine, Kramer, George, Jerry and Newman would someday be back for a reunion show, can forget it....
Jerry Seinfeld was on Larry King Live tonight and Larry asked him about the possibility of a return of our favorite show about nothing, or at least a reunion movie and Jerry as much as said, "nope, not gonna happen" He didn't use those actual words, but it was pretty clear that it isn'ton his radar.
Of course, many of us have been praying for a return ever since the show went off the air. Having to settle for repeats....over and over, but I have to admit, I do watch them and still laugh, often out loud.
Seinfeld has to have been one of the most consistently funny sitcoms of all times with characters that have yet to be beat by any other show on television today. The writing and the acting on that show was the best, particularly by the supporting cast who were always better than Seinfeld in the sense that he was the straight man to their characters.
I am not in a position to discuss the reasons for the show's success, because I certainly don't have the background, but it had to have been the writing that created the characters that made the show so damm watchable. I have a book in my book rack called, "Characters Make Your Story" and truer words have never been spoken. The traits and flaws that the characters of Seinfeld had, was what made them so lovable to all of us.
Jerry was on Larry King tonight to promote his new movie, called, I believe, "Bees" or something like that. It is an animated flick and Larry apparently has a role in the movie.
No matter what he does, I'm sure if Jerry Seinfeld is involved, it has to be funny!
